Builders’ works for lift projects.
Builders’ works for new lifts, replacements and modernisations across the South West. We prepare the building, support the installation team and finish the landings around the completed lift.
From site preparation to handover.
Lift engineers need the openings, working areas and protection ready before installation can move on. We agree the building work with your team and plan it around the lift programme.
You can use us for the full builders’ works package or individual tasks, including hoardings, entrance alterations, pits, fire stopping and making good.
Dominic Smale and Elliott Ridge both hold EOR202 Safe Working on Lifts & Release of Trapped Passengers. We agree site responsibilities and access arrangements with the lift contractor before starting.

Working in buildings that stay open.
We work in hospitals, care homes, colleges, offices and residential buildings that remain in use. Access routes, noisy work, dust control and the building’s fire arrangements all need to be considered before work starts.
- RAMS and site-specific planning
- Protected routes and controlled working areas
- Coordination with lift engineers and project teams
- Quality checks and clear handover records
Before you send the enquiry
Can you price individual jobs as well as a full package?
Yes. Ask us about a complete builders’ works package or individual tasks such as landing hoardings, entrance making good, fire stopping or shaft preparation. We agree the scope and exclusions before the work starts.
Can you work in a building that stays open?
Our experience includes hospitals, care homes and colleges that remain in use. We agree the working areas, access, noise and dust controls with the lift contractor and site team before starting.
What information helps you prepare a quotation?
Send the site address, scope or drawings, number of landings and proposed dates. Include photographs and any limits on access or working hours. If information is missing, we will discuss what needs checking.
What paperwork is provided?
We prepare task-specific RAMS and agree the records needed for the job. These can include installation photographs, fire-stopping records, inspections and a handover report, depending on the scope.
Where do you work?
We are based in Minehead and cover lift builders’ works across the South West. Send the site location and programme so we can discuss availability.
